Making a Subtractive Modular Synth From Scratch

Using REAPER's JSFX-based modular synth package from ReaPack to patch together a simple subtractive synth.

There’s a very cool package available through ReaPack that lets you build modular synth patches using nothing but REAPER’s custom JSFX scripts. This post demonstrates how to use those plugins to put together a simple subtractive synth.

The original post was built around a video demonstration rather than a full written walkthrough, so the surviving text is short — but the core idea is straightforward: chain JSFX modules (oscillators, filters, envelopes) on a track the same way you’d patch a hardware modular rig, using REAPER’s own routing as the patch cables.
